“It was the weekend of the terrible Texas freeze and we had planned about a month in advance to head to Port Aransas the weekend of February 12-14th. Tyler is a Valentine’s baby, so he disguised the weekend as a getaway for his birthday. The Friday we were leaving is when all of the weather warnings started to pour in about how terrible the weather was going to get, and we were discussing if making the 3-hour drive to Port A would be safe. We decided to go and we had dinner plans the night we got there. When we got to the restaurant, Trout Street, our friends that made the weekend trip with us rushed inside and Tyler requested we go around back to look at all of the boats parked on the backside of the restaurant. We round the corner, and he continues walking, not so much looking at the boats. As we get to the end of the restaurant’s porch, there were all of our family and friends. I turned around and there he was on one knee. We celebrated our hearts out with the people we love most and experienced the coldest beach weather/weekend ever! We joke around how hell froze over when we got engaged, but our love is forever ignited. The best moment of our lives.”
